Taeyang Set to Perform His New Solo Song at the '2018 Pyeongchang Olympics'

After being an official honorary ambassador of the upcoming "2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics", Taeyang will be making an appearance on the said occasion in November. Not only would he attend the major event, he will also be revealing his new solo song for the first time.

According to All K-Pop, the song is made specifically for the Olympic games. The BIGBANG member will be performing it on November 1 at the Olympic torch relay in Incheon's Moonlight Park in Songdo. Taeyang also attended the appointment ceremony back in June, where he said, "Through various performances overseas, everyone was able to reunite as one thanks to music, despite our cultural differences and language barriers." He adds, "I hope that many people can share their hopes and dreams in light of the '2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics".

Soompi adds that various popular artists will be releasing a campaign song for the said Olympics. Fourteen groups (a total of 24 people) including Super Junior, Baek Ji Young, Bobby Kim, Kim Jo Han, Sunmi, and The One are currently working on the song at a studio in Seoul. The track is not an official song by Pyeongchang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, but a campaign organized by the Korea Entertainment Producer's Association for the South Koreans to enjoy. The song's title will be revealed soon and once the production is finished, it will be available online for free.

The first day of November will be the start of the first official ceremony leading up to the 2018 Winter Games. The assigned torchbearers will roam around 17 cities across South Korea for a long period of 101 days before the official opening ceremony. Furthermore, the "2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics" will be held in Pyeongchang Gangwon province from February 9 to February 25, 2018. Lastly, the global competition includes a total of 2,900 participants and athletes from 95 countries.
