Heechul Reveals the Reason Why He Can’t Participate in Super Junior’s Highly-Anticipated Comeback

On October 17, Kim Heechul broke the news to Super Junior fans that he won't be able to participate in the group's highly-anticipated comeback. He shared a lengthy post via his Instagram account, where he explained the side effects of a past car accident and the ongoing pain he is still experiencing.

All K-Pop translated the full post of Heechul and it begins with, "First, I'm writing this with an apologetic mind to my members as I promised not to leave mysterious posts on SNS. People who know are aware but I'm unable to properly use my left leg due to a car accident 11 years ago." Despite that, the Super Junior member said that he still joyfully promoted and smiled no matter how bad his leg hurt. He even brought back what he said on the program "Life Bar" and revealed that the pain in his ankle has become more frequent. Now that the boy band's comeback is near, he shares that he is starting to get scared.

Heechul continues his message by unveiling his inner thoughts and feelings. He said that he forced himself to laugh and just let it slide when people claim that his leg is already healed since it's been more than 10 years. Heechul tried to have positive thoughts and control his mind but ended up feeling more pain when his body did not keep up.

Nearing the end of his letter, Heechul thinks he won't be able to engage in promotions and reveals he doesn't have the confidence to face his members and the fans who waited for their group for so long. He ends his message by reminding his fans to be careful of the cold and to wear a seatbelt when riding a car.

However, Soompi shared that SM Entertainment said otherwise. His agency has reached to the public and said that Heechul's post was misinterpreted and the Super Junior member will be taking part in the group's activities as planned.
