Blake Lively Subjected To Disturbing Sexual Assault: Who Was The Man?
Blake Lively, the star of the Marc Forster-directed "All I See You" shocked fans all over the world when she revealed that she was subjected to a disturbing and infuriating sexual assault. She immediately sought help after the incident but the people chose to dismiss her. Her revelation came amid the many celebrities who were now coming out to expose Harvey Weinstein's sexual assaults.
Lively, wife to Ryan Reynolds, narrated how she was harassed on an almost day-to-day basis while working with a project that she refused to identify. She narrated on how one location shoot, she woke up being filmed in a voyeuristic, terrifying thing to do. The man guilty of such disgusting act was the very-open make-up artist for the project.
His position as her make-up artist made it all the more convenient for this man to make his advances against Lively. There were occasions where he would murmur inappropriate things to her and persistently wanted to put her lipstick on with his finger. She revealed these details in an exclusive interview with The Times.
Lively said that she reported the misconduct to the project's producers but they remained reluctant. She kept on complaining for three months until finally, the producers took time to speak with her. They said: "Your dog left a poop behind the toilet in your dressing room and our janitor had to pick it up. And this is very serious and we can't have this happen again." At the time, all her hopes that they would address the sordid act by the make-up artist went down the drain.
At that point, she finally decided to take matters her own way with her lawyer. The make-up artist was removed from the project. However, the project's production manager still gave the make-up artist a letter of recommendation to avoid bad blood among them.
Lively's shocking revelation came amidst mounting allegations against Weinstein. Asked about the controversy, Lively emphasized that she did not experience the same with her encounters with Weinstein. She, however, pointed out that sexual assault is happening to women all over the world to the point that women were at appointing where they could not clearly identify whether an act was an assault or not. In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, she shared that she was confused as well. She had questionable encounters while trying for a dress, there was a director being inappropriate and there was a man who grabbed her butt - all these, she was having doubts whether she was already been being assaulted or not.
Weinstein was accused of sexual misconducts by Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie, Asia Argento, Lea Seydoux and Cara Delevingne. Numerous celebrities had also condemned him, including Julia Roberts, Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, Kate Winslet and Glenn Close. As for Lively, she had this to say: "It's important that women are furious right now. It's important that there is an uprising. It's important that we don't stand for this and that we don't focus on one or two or three or four stories, it's important that we focus on humanity in general and say [that] this is unacceptable."
