Hollywood Celebrities Outraged On Harvey Weinstein Sexual Assault Scandal

The Hollywood has spoken up and expressed their utmost disappointment and anger towards Harvey Weinstein after the multiple sexual abuse allegations. Harvey Weinstein, the former Weinstein Co. executive, has admitted the accusations against him.

Throughout the week, various celebrities went out of their way to convey their advocacies in supporting and protecting the women in particular. The LA Times made a compilation of the emotions and reactions from different celebrities and personalities.

Ben Affleck went out on his social media account on Tuesday to condemn Harvey Weinstein's charges. Affleck has had worked with Weinstein without knowing that he "used his position of power to intimidate, sexually harass and manipulate many women over decades." The status on his Facebook gathered various comments from his fans all over the world.

 

Secretary Hilary Clinton also expressed her abhorrence towards Harvey Weinstein. She released a statement saying she was "shocked and appalled" by the news. Clinton also admired the courage of the victims for speaking out.

"Their courage and the support of others is critical in helping to stop this kind of behavior," Clinton said.

Other personalities including Judd Apatow, Patricia Arquette, George Clooney, Lena Dunham, Paul Feig, Jessica Chastain, Ryan Gosling, Julia Roberts, and many others were also horrified and outraged. They also appreciated the bravery of the women who came out to speak about it.

Meanwhile, the accusers kept on increasing through time including big celebrity names in the Hollywood today. The Guardians revealed that the incident happened to the victims who were just starting their career before.

Angelina Jolie admitted that she had a traumatic experience with Harvey Weinstein in her youth. It became the reason for her to choose not to work with him again. Other names include Asia Argento, Lucia Evans, Gwyneth Paltrow, Mira Sorvino, Rosanna Arquette, Ambra Battilana Gutierrez, Zoe Brock, and Katherine Kendall.

The Hollywood Reporter also included the names of Rowan McGowan and Sophie Dix in the list. Rowan McGowan posted on her social media before her account was taken down. Some victims are also not named because they chose not to be identified.

The scars and the trauma are still fresh for the sexually harassed and assaulted women. While the numbers of victims increased to 30, the United States and London police are on the eyes on the Harvey Weinstein case.
