TWICE's "One More Time" MV Teases Future Band Concept?
TWICE has now released the full "One More Time" music video. The girl group was originally scheduled for a Japan comeback next week with the new single.
It seems likely that the group's label JYP Entertainment decided to drop the full "One More Time" MV after the song got leaked online, as reported here. The earlier promotions for TWICE's comeback presented October 18 as the release date, as noted by Billboard.
The new music video is a candy-colored confection that shows off the girls' athletic side. They display their skills in various sports, including tennis, boxing, and rhythmic gymnastics. The video is available on YouTube, or you can watch it below.
It's not exactly a unique K-pop video concept. Just a little under a year ago, AOA released the "Wow War Tonight" MV that also depicts the girl group members in a variety of athletic roles. It even had boxing and rhythmic gymnastics segments. AOA's "Wow War Tonight" MV is also on YouTube.
Another thing to note about TWICE's "One More Time" MV is that it features a quick segment of the girls playing band instruments. There have been rumors that TWICE is planning to do a band concept on their next comeback in Korea. This may be a teasing acknowledgment of those rumors. It could also be a teaser of what is to come.
JYP Entertainment has announced that TWICE will comeback in Korea sometime in late October. It seems probable that this comeback will closely coincide with the date of TWICE's 2nd anniversary on October 20, as previously reported here.
The current Japan comeback is only months after TWICE's official debut in Japan, which took place in summer. At that time, the group released the album '#TWICE' containing Japanese versions of their Korean hit songs. "One More Time" is the group's first-ever Japanese single.
