'Blue Bloods' Season 8 Episode 2 Air Date, Synopsis, Spoilers: Danny Reagan Moves On With A New Case

Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) will not let a personal tragedy get in the way of his duties as a police officer. In "Blue Bloods" Season 8 Episode 2, he is plunging into a new case that involves the disappearance of a teenager 13 years ago. 

It looks like the police drama on NBC would not dwell too long on the death of Amy Carlson's character, Linda, this season. Just like last week, Danny will be involved in a new case that hopefully will take his mind off of his grief. Meanwhile, Frank (Tom Selleck) has to confront a man celebrated today for conspiring against the police force. 

"Frank receives an order from the mayor to attend a parade honoring a man who served time for conspiring in an attack against the police," the episode synopsis read (via TV.com). "Meanwhile, Danny investigates the return of a teen who suspiciously disappeared 13 years ago; and Jaimie and Eddie help a young woman they believe is being exploited by a congressman. "

From last week's episode, viewers learned that the new mayor of New York City, Margaret Dutton (Lorraine Bracco), is not fond of Frank, the only person she cannot control. That is probably why she sent the police commissioner himself to oversee the celebration. 

Meanwhile, the bit about the congressman has already been teased in the episode trailer embedded below. Jaimie (Will Estes) and Eddie (Vanessa Ray) will put duty over everything else. They will continue to investigate despite the knowledge that they heading a dangerous path. 

As per Danny, do not expect the police drama to spend a substantial amount of time dealing with the loss of Linda. As Carter Matt pointed out, "Blue Bloods" is not that kind of show; there have been a few references to the past in some episodes, but they do not spend too much time mourning characters who have departed. 

"Blue Bloods" Season 8 Episode 2 is titled "Ghost of the Past." It will air on Oct. 6 on CBS.
