Lee Min Ki Returns To Drama In 'Because This Is My FIrst Life'

Lee Min Ki is finally returning to television. The actor is best known for "Love Truly" and "Dalja's Sping" will once again grace television screens in the upcoming romantic-comedy "Because This Is My First Life."

The drama will follow Lee as Nam Se Hee, a 30-something man who made a choice to never get married. While has his own house (a trait that many ladies would find attractive), he owes a lot of money because of it. 

"Because This Is My First Life" will also star Jung So Min who previously starred in "My Father is Strange," "Sound Of Your Heart," "Can We Get Married" and, most famously, "Mischievous Kiss." She will play the role of Yoon Ji Ho, a single woman in her early 30s. Unlike Se Hee, Ji Ho does not own a house and envy those who do. 

Their situations will force them together. Ji Ho will move to Se Hee's house and they become housemates. 

In a press conference, Lee talked about his long absence from television. He also revealed why he chose "Because This Is My First Life" as his first drama in a really long time. 

"I learned that there are consequences to my actions, and I'm going to work hard to be more careful and prudent," he explained to reporters (via Soompi). "I'm so happy and thankful to be a part of this project. I'm going to give it my all."

Lee enlisted in the military in August 2014 and was discharged last year. In 2016, he was accused of sexual assault, but he was immediately acquitted. 

The 32-year-old was also supposed to star in the drama "Tomorrow With You" alongside Shin Min A ("My Girlfriend Is A Nine-Tailed Fox"). The two previously worked together in the movie "A Million." However, their reunion did not push through because Lee dropped out of the project shortly after his sexual assault case leaked to the press, reported Drama Beans. He was replaced by Lee Je Hoon ("Signal"). '

As for his upcoming drama, Lee revealed that the reason why he accepted the role was that he liked the story. Moreover, he thinks that how Se Hee wants to distance himself from other people is rather charming. 

"Because This Is My First Life" will premiere on Oct. 9 and will air every Monday and Tuesday at 21:30 KST on tvN. The dram was written by Yoon Nan Joong ("Flower Boy Ramen Shop," "The Queen of Office") and directed by Park Joon Hwa ("Bring It on, Ghost;" "Let's Eat").
