A 'Killjoy' & 'Dark Matter' Crossover Almost Happened

Here is one more reason to be upset about Syfy's shocking cancellation of "Dark Matter:" the space drama was supposed to crossover with "Killjoys" in Season 4. In an interview last month, showrunner Michelle Lovretta revealed plans to see the Raza crew cross paths with the three bounty hunters from Quad at some point. 

The two sci-fi series have been handed their life sentences last weekend. As mentioned, "Dark Matter" was canceled after only three seasons while "Killjoys" has been renewed for its final two seasons by Syfy. 

However, before the network announced the two sci-fi series' fate last weekend, there were discussions about the possibility of a crossover. Lovretta, the genius behind "Killjoys," shared to Den of Geek what she has planned with an executive producer of "Dark Matter."

"I think that's really contingent upon us first of all getting season 4 renewals," she told the publication, "both of us. Then if we both get Season 4s, it then comes down to scheduling. If we were able to figure out enough in advance where we could have a credible crossover, I would totally be doing that, yeah."

While a crossover is now off the table, "Killjoys" still has a lot of stories arcs to tie and adventures to go to in Seasons 4 and 5. Starring Hannah John-Kamen, Aaron Ashmore, and Luke Macfarlane as bounty hunters, the space-adventure drama is set to return to television in 2018.
