Disney has confirmed that "Frozen 2" is in the works years ago, but fans would have to wait longer before they see Lesa, Anna, and Olaf back on the big screen. Idina Menzel, the actor who voices the Ice Queen, has given an update on the development of the movie and, so far, it has not moved forward.

In fact, Menzel is still touring across the U.S. and she shared that she has not even received the script of the animated sequel. She, however, is set to report to the recording studio in a few weeks.

"I'll start ['Frozen'] when the tour is over in a couple weeks. And then I'll start getting in the studio," the singer/actor told AZ Central. "Honestly, they haven't even sent me a script. They're keeping everything really close to the vest."

She, then, explained the process of getting an animated movie up to the big screen. While it is a lot of work, Menzel said that she loves the project and is looking forward to reuniting with co-stars Kristen Bell (Anna) and Josh Gad (Olaf).

"It's that kind of thing, you get in, you do a little work, they start storyboarding and getting the images up. Then they'll come in a couple weeks later, they'll do some more, change it around, add a song," she shared. "It's a very incremental process, which I love. So I'm looking forward getting back in there with that 'Frozen' family and just doing our thing."

Not much is known about the plot of "Frozen 2" and, because Menzel has not received her part yet, she cannot divulge any details about her character and what kinds of adventure she will head on to in the sequel. However, there are a lot of rumors floating around the web and the most persistent are Elsa becoming the chief villain.

Whether there is an ounce of truth in this rumor or not, fans have no choice but to wait and see. Despite the fact that Menzel and the rest of the cast have not started filming, "Frozen 2" is still set to be released on Nov. 27.
