'Hunter x Hunter’ Spoilers: Yoshihiro Togashi Continues To Delay New Chapter

Do not expect new issues of "Hunter X Hunter" manga. According to reports, manga artist and editor, Yoshihiro Togashi, is reportedly going into another hiatus this year.

Followers of "Hunter X Hunter" manga are probably not surprised to hear this news. Toshihiro is notorious for taking frequent and long breaks. In fact, here is a calendar showing the manga's publication run from its debut in 1998 up to 2017.

According to to the chart, the manga's longest publication streak was 30 issues from 2011 to 2012. However, its longest hiatus lasted for 80 issues starting from 2014 to 2016.

Weekly Shonen Jump (via Comicbook.com) reported that "Hunter X Hunter" is about to go back into hiatus starting Sept. 4, Monday, after the latest issue drops. The title of his most recent release is "Limit" or "Hunter X Hunter" no. 369.

While upsetting, Togashi's hiatus is due to his health conditions. The 51-year-old suffers from back pain and other ailments that come from working in front of a desk for long periods of time. He has been making mangas since 1986 and has regularly published issues of "Hunter X Hunter" since 1998. The action-adventure shonen manga series is one of Shueisha's longer titles.

However, Kotaku noted that Togashi himself promised to return to work later this year. The next issue of "Hunter X Hunter" is expected to come out in the 40th issue of "Jump" this year.

The shonen manga has amassed a massive following worldwide. It was also adapted to a popular anime series that ran from 1999 to 2001.

"Hunter X Hunter" follows a young man boy named Gon Freecs who discovers that his father was a renowned Hunter,  a licensed professional who hunt unidentified animal species and lawless individuals. Despite his father's absence, Gon strived to become a Hunter himself and departs to pass the rigorous Hunter Examination.
