This Is Us Season 2

The first season of the critically-acclaimed family drama, "This Is Us," ended with a massive fight between main characters, Rebecca (Mandy Moore) and Jack (Milo Ventimiglia). While fans can be assured as early as now that this dark point of their lives will not cause the dissolution of their marriage, expect that the scene will have some serious repercussions in Season 2.

Because of its format, fans are still figuring out what really happened between Jack and Rebecca. While the series has already revealed quite a number of secrets in Season 1, the story is not over yet.

The next chapter of the lives of the Pearsons will see each character continue to tread on to their separate journeys of love, family, happiness and personal growth. However, at home, Rebecca and Jack are about to go through a tough challenge ahead that will change their dynamic forever.

Show creator, Dan Fogelman, warned that the massive fight between the couple at the end of "This Is Us" Season 1 will have serious repercussions. To recall, the season finale titled "Moonshadow" saw Rebecca and Jack have a huge argument over his alcoholism and her ambition to become a musician (when she already has a family to prioritize).

The two decided that they had to press pause on their marriage to think things through and temporarily separated. Jack went off to stay with his friend Miguel (Jon Huertas) and Rebecca stayed at home with the kids.

"There are repercussions," he stated in an interview with Variety. "You don't come back instantly from that, but I'd like to believe that doesn't end a very healthy, long-standing relationship."

Moreover, fans will get to see more from Jack's unhappy home life and his relationship with his own father. The patriarch of "This Is Us" has been actively trying to become the exact opposite of his father as he takes on the role of the man of the house to his three children. However, viewers will see that this decision will not necessarily be easy.

"Jack's biggest challenge is himself. We are all our own worst enemies," Ventimiglia teased. "We are the ones that second guess ourselves and that stand in our own ways, and Jack needs to get past his past."

"This Is Us" Season 2 will premiere on Sept. 26 on NBC. The series also stars Sterling K. Brown, Chrissy Metz and Justin Hartley.
