Blindspot Season 3

Jane Doe's (Jaimie Alexander) tattoos have played a major part of NBC's crime drama, "Blindspot." From the beginning, the symbols inked on the protagonist's skin have provided the FBI leads to the biggest crime groups in the U.S. Then, in the previous season, her tattoos started glowing.

Fans can expect the third season of the crime drama to explore the mystery behind these glowing tattoos. It turns out, they would not have to wait long before its secrets started to unfold. In a new interview, the screenwriter assured that biggest cliffhanger of Season 2 will be answered on the premiere episode of the upcoming season.

"All will be explained in about the first five minutes of the season premiere," he shared to TV Guide. "But those glowing tattoos are a whole new layer that kick-off a whole new adventure!"

Unlike other crime dramas, "Blindspot" is not in the practice of dragging a mystery too long. One thing that fans love about the series is its steady fast pace that manages to keep everyone at the edge of their seats.

However, while the mystery of the glowing tattoos will immediately be resolved, the series will have to explore other things. For one, the upcoming season will see a massive time jump that puts the main characters in different places and whether they will remain as allies or will become adversaries is something that fans have to watch and see.

Tasha Zapata (Audrey Esparza), for example, has started getting frustrated at how her colleagues at the FBI conducts its business. So she joined the CIA, a group that has in the past locked horns with Jane's group.

In addition, Gero said in a separate interview with EW that the FBI will be working with the CIA in "Blindspot" Season 3. "It's not going to be as contentious as a relationship as it was in the first two seasons," he admitted. "They will be working in consort with each other."

Earlier this year, NBC has renewed "Blindspot" for Season 3. The crime drama will return on television on Oct. 27.
