The Crown Season 2

Princess Margaret's (Vanessa Kirby) bad luck in romance will continue in "The Crown" Season 2. After falling in love and getting her heartbroken, show creator Peter Morgan reveals what is in store for the Countess of Snowdon in the next chapter of the critically-acclaimed biographical drama on Netflix.

Fans watched Margaret fall in love with Captain Peter Townsend (Ben Miles) but because he was a divorcee, she could not marry him. Margaret's sister herself, Queen Elizabeth (Claire Foy) - the governor of the Church of England - who rejected the union.

Morgan warns that Margaret will not get her happy ending soon. He even says that Kirby "explodes" in "The Crown" Season 2.

"We always knew she was a great actress, but she explodes," the screenwriter reveals to Vanity Fair. "It's a very identifiable tragedy, to have someone in the family with more apparent charisma and yet no use for it... I love writing her."

However, he also admits that the upcoming season will bring more love and happiness for the royal bachelorette. "I promise you, it's properly painful," he says. "Properly painful."

Because "The Crown" is biographical in nature, it is safe to surmise that Margaret will have a new romantic interest in Season 2. A quick Google search will reveal that after breaking her heart, the princess has accepted a marriage proposal from Antony Armstrong-Jones, a photographer and film maker.

"The Crown" is one of the most expensive television series ever made. However, Morgan clarifies to Indie Wire that they did not receive $100 million to produce the critically-acclaimed first season. The royal drama did have a hefty price tag: he says that one episode costs around $6 million - $7 million.

It was all worth it. The series has been nominated for 10 Emmys including for Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. "The Crown" Season 2 will premiere on Nov. 4 on Netflix.
