'Supernatural' Season 13: Castiel To End Up In A Mysterious New Realm
In "Supernatural," no one stays dead. After an eventful season finale, fans of the long-running paranormal drama witnessed the death of two major characters: Crowley (Mark Sheppard) and Castiel (Misha Collins). While one of them has officially announced his departure from the series, one of them will be back for one more adventures with Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) in Season 13.
Collins already confirmed earlier this year that Castiel will return in the upcoming season, but how the character will come back from the dead remains to be seen. In fact, he might not even be resurrected, at least, not in the beginning.
In an interview with Showbiz Junkies that in "Supernatural" Season 13, Castiel will spend the first few episodes were, well, dead. Sam and Dean will spend the first half of the season mourning the death of their friends.
"When he does come back as more than a lifeless body, we find him in a realm that we've talked about on "Supernatural" but we've never seen," the actor explains. "And he finds himself alone in this realm with only one other companion who is another powerful being played by a great actor."
The big villain of "Supernatural" Season 13 has not been revealed yet but, while Crowley is gone, he will be replaced by a promising new character with devilish origins. Alexander Calvert ("Arrow," "The Return," "The Edge of Seventeen") joined the cast as Jack, a powerful Nephilim and the son of Lucifer.
He, however, might not be too bad as everyone thought he would be. Padalecki said at San Diego Comic Con earlier this year that Sam wants to give the boy a chance. "Jack certainly is half Lucifer but he's also half Kelly Kline who was a good person," he said as quoted by Den of Geek.
Meanwhile, Jensen thinks that Dean will be more cautious knowing the new character's origins. The actor revealed that the older Winchester would want to "shoot [Jack] in the face" before the latter does something evil. "Supernatural" Season 13 will premiere on Tuesday, Oct. 12, at 8 p.m. on The CW.
