Samsung Official Android 7.0 Nougat: Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy C5, Galaxy C7, Galaxy C9 Pro

Android Nougat for Samsung Galaxy S6

Samsung continues to roll out Android 7.0 Nougat software update with Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge leading the next batch.

South Korean tech giant Samsung started the rollout of Android 7.0 Nougat for Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge on January 17 this year. Software updates continue to roll out on different territories and now, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge will lead the next set of devices to receive the upgrade.

Android 7.0 software update started in India for Samsung Galaxy S6 SM-G920I and Galaxy S6 Edge SM-G9215I with the file size of 1247.36 MB. It delivers a newer design on the user interface, improvements in the notifications and Quick Setting toggles, a better functionality of the multi-window feature and the Game Launcher for smartphones, according to Fone Arena.

Australian network carrier Optus announced the upcoming Android 7.0 Nougat software update for Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. It is set to be released in September which will bring Wi-Fi calling and the latest Google Security Patches, according to Optus's official website.

Samsung Galaxy C5, Galaxy C7, and Galaxy C9 Pro are also expected to receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update soon. Reports claim that the South Korean tech manufacturer is currently testing the said firmware on Galaxy C5 SM-C5000, Galaxy C7 SM-C7000 and Galaxy C9 Pro SM-C9000 in China but no rollout dates yet have been announced, according to @mmddj_china.

Samsung official Android 7.0 Nougat for Galaxy S7 series brings new and improved features to Galaxy devices such as faster downloading speed of apps and system updates. The software also contains major UX changes including the cleaner aesthetic and reorganization of the Quick Panel with S Finder integration, notifications are grouped to display information with Direct Reply support, up to seven apps running at the same time under the Multi-Window feature with two apps in split-screen view and five apps using the new pop-up window function, addition of the Performance Mode to optimize the device and adapt to performance demand.

Optimized mode to extend the battery life and enhances the device's overall speed, suitable for daily use. Game mode is useful for the Game Launcher and Game Tools on the device. Entertainment mode enhances the sound and image quality of multimedia apps and files. High Performance delivers the best performance across the board even increasing the quality of the display.
