Mi Band Pulse Rate Compared To The Apple Watch; Suggested Retail Price Announced!
China based Electronics Company, Xiaomi introduced the new predecessor to their Mi Band fitness tracker with a pulse rate monitoring feature.
The Mi Band Pulse has an optical sensor that can monitor the user's blood flow making the device to track their pulse rate. The wearable device can track the user's activity, unlock the user's phone and has a battery that could last up to a month in just a single charge, according to The Verge.
The Mi Band Pulse's physical appearance is similar to Mi Band fitness tracker but except for the additional pulse rate feature, "which has the high accuracy of the Apple Watch," as the company would claim it to be, according to PC Magazine.
It is compatible with Apple and Android smartphones since it connects via Bluetooth and can be accessed using the Xiaomi's downloadable Mi Fit app that stores fitness data from the user's wrist. Because of the additional pulse rate feature, the Mi Band is now packed with a 45mAh battery. The band is water resistant and is IP67 certified. It can withstand the cold and hot temperatures and can survive 4-feet drops, according to Pc Magazine.
A research conducted by IDC last August showed that Xiaomi ranked third for the world's largest wearable vendor with 3.1 million of shipped units while Fitbit reigned at the top spot with 4.4 million units followed by Apple with 3.6 million, according to Tech Times.
The Mi Band Pulse will sell for $16, just an additional of $3 compared to the previous price of the Mi Band fitness tracker which was released last year, according to The Verge.
The Mi Band Pulse will launch and will be up for sale on China's massive Singles Day celebration on Nov. 11, reported in Tech Crunch.
