"The Bachelorette" Season 13 (2017), Episode 8 features hometown dates. The leading lady visits the final four men, Eric Bigger, Bryan Abasolo, Dean Unglert and Peter Kraus in their hometown and tries to figure out who she sees her future with. For her first hometown visit, Rachel visits Eric's hometown Baltimore. According to the official press release for "The Bachelorette" Season 13 (2017) on the network's official website, Eric shows Rachel the neighbourhood where he grew up. She is impressed to find out about the hardships and obstacles he overcame to reach where he is today.
It is said that Rachel is the first woman Eric ever got home to meet his parents. He is determined to let Rachel know about his feelings for her.
For the second hometown date, Rachel visits Bryan's family in Miami. Before meeting the family, Rachel and Bryan spend some time exploring town's culture. They visit Calle Ocho where they have some fun trying salsa, playing dominoes and trying some Columbian food.
Rachel is certainly nervous to find out that Bryan's last relationship did not work out because his mother did not approve of the girl. The Bachelorette is nervous and Bryan's mother is not sure of his relationship with Rachel.
Next, Rachel visits the city of Madison, Wisconsin. Here, she meets Peter and his family and friends. She has a heart-to-heart conversation about Peter with his mother. The revealing conversation makes her realise that Peter is quite sensitive. Rachel is left wondering about her future with Peter.
The final hometown date of "The Bachelorette" Season 13 (2017), Episode 8 takes place in Aspen, Colorado. Here, Dean takes Rachel for an ATV ride. Rachel finds out about the tense situation between the father, who is a Sikh Kundalini yogi, and the son. The episodes feature a meltdown between the father and the son. Dean has a heart-to-heart conversation with his father after years of estrangement.
For the rose ceremony, Rachel and the four bachelors return to Dallas. Rachel figures that she has feelings for all the four men. She must make the hard choice of sending one of them home before they head to Spain for overnight dates.
