Red Velvet 'The Red Summer' Tops Korean And Worldwide Music Charts, ‘Red Flavor’ MV Reaches Million Views In 3 Hours
SM Entertainment has finally released Red Velvet’s new album and the group has topped various music charts all over the world. A new music video for their new title track “Red Flavor” was also just released.
On July 9, SM Entertainment released Red Velvet’s latest album “The Red Summer” and their title track’s music video, “Red Flavor”. The said music video featured the members of the group in fruity and colorful concepts coupled with a catchy dance number. Despite having performed the said song live at the recently held SMTOWN LIVE World Tour VI in Seoul, the music video for “Red Flavor” still gained a huge number of views, reaching one million views in just three hours. A day since the music video was released, it has already garnered more than six million views on SM Entertainment’s official YouTube channel.
Aside from their new music video’s feat on YouTube, Red Velvet has entered and topped various music charts in South Korea and overseas. Their new title track, “Red Flavor” took the top spots on seven South Korean music charts namely Genie, Melon, Bugs, Naver Music, Soribada, Olleh Music, and Monkey3 as of 2 PM (KST) on July 9. On the same day, the other tracks of the new album also ranked high in the said charts.
Red Velvet is clearly showing more of their colors as they burst into the top spots of various international music charts. Their new album, “The Red Summer” ranked first place on the iTunes Worldwide Album Charts in eight countries namely Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Belize, and Brunei. The said album also topped the iTunes K-Pop Charts in several other countries including United States, New Zealand, and Australia.
SM Entertainment released Red Velvet’s new summer mini album “The Red Summer” with five new songs, including its title track “Red Flavor”. The four other songs are “You Better Know”, “Zoo”, “Mojito”, and “Hear The Sea”. Red Velvet has made their first comeback stage on SBS music program “Inkigayo”.
