SMEnt Updates: EXO Comeback Date Released; Girls' Generation Reunites At Photoshoot Prior To Comeback
SM Entertainment has clearly geared up the summer for series of comebacks from its artists. Fans are expecting back to back releases from various artists and two of the most anticipated comebacks are from the legendary girl group Girls’ Generation and popular boy group EXO.
SM Entertainment confirmed that Girls’ Generation and EXO will be making their comebacks this summer. In fact, the entertainment agency pretty much hinted that something big is in store for fans when they revealed that Girls’ Generation will not be participating at the upcoming SM Town special stage in Hong Kong. The said group, which is also widely referred to as SNSD, is celebrating their 10th anniversary this August and some members of the group affirmed that they are going to make the comeback this year a special one.
SM Entertainment has been keeping the suspense on Girls’ Generation by keeping fans in the dark and releasing just a few updates. However, fans were given an early treat when all eight members reunited for a photoshoot for the fashion magazine W Korea, which is reportedly part of their 10th-anniversary project. It was W Korea’s creative director Park Seon Won who shared the news and even revealed footage from behind the scenes.
Meanwhile, EXO is also preparing to kick off their comeback this month. Just like Girls’ Generation, SM Entertainment has yet to announce EXO’s official comeback date. However, there are reports that EXO will be making their comeback on or before July 21 because they were scheduled to perform their comeback stage on KBS2 “Music Bank” on the said date. A source from SM Entertainment addressed the reports, clarifying that they are still adjusting the schedules of the group. It has been revealed earlier that Lay will not be able to join EXO in this comeback because of his prior commitments in China.
