'Hawaii Five-0' Season 8 moves on without Grace Park and Daniel Dae Kim, EP confirms
Executive Producer Peter Lenkov has confirmed, as per Deadline, that he would miss Daniel, adding that there is no other actor who could play Chin Ho Kelly effectively. The "Hawaii Five-0" Season 8 producer also credited all the efforts of the 48-year-old American-South Korean actor over the previous seven installments of the medical-themed series.
Additionally, Lenkov felt grateful for having known Daniel Dae Kim and praised his exceptional acting prowess. The "Hawaii Five-0" Season 8 producer confessed that he would miss both Daniel and Grace Park.
"We are so appreciative of Daniel and Grace's enormous talents, professional excellence and the aloha spirit they brought to each and every one of our 168 episodes," CBS stated in an official statement. "They've helped us build an exciting new Hawaii Five-0, and we wish them all the best and much success in their next chapters. Mahalo and a hui hou..." the home network of "Hawaii Five-0" Season 8 went on saying.
Rumors suggest that Grace Park and Daniel Dae Kim were forced to leave the show due to pay inequality with co-stars Alex O'Loughlin and Scott Caan. As per Celeb Dirty Laundry, the Asian actors were frustrated after learning that their pay is 10 to 15 percent lower than their American associates.
Alex O'Loughlin's upcoming exit might lead to the cancelation of 'Hawaii Five-0' Season 8
In other news, Alex O'Loughlin has previously expressed his yearning to leave "Hawaii Five-0" Season 8. The Aussie actor stated that, while he now feels at home in the series, he needs to depart from the show to have quality time with his family and, perhaps, travel to other places.
Alex O'Louglin confessed to Collider that he is planning to shift from acting to directing shows or movies. The 40-year-old actor even revealed that he would be directing an episode of "Hawaii Five-0" Season 8.
