'Vikings' Season 5 Spoilers: WWE Superstar Adam 'Edge' Copeland Joins Floki's Journey To Iceland, Floki To Become New Seer?
WWE Superstar Adam "Edge" Copeland is set to return to History Channel's "Vikings" for its fifth season. The wrestling star will reprise his role as Ketill Flatnose.
According to a report by Movie News Guide, WWE's "Edge" will play a part in Floki's expanded storyline as Ragnar's most trusted ally sails off to Iceland. It is expected that Ketill Flatnose will help Floki establish a Viking settlement in Iceland for "Vikings" Season 5.
Series creator Michael Hirst has earlier teased that with the death of his beloved wife and daughter, Floki will be taking a different path when "Vikings" Season returns to the History Channel. With his mission to help Ragnar's son avenge the death of their father, Floki is expected to re-evaluate his role in the Vikings quest and seek his own destiny.
It has been rumored that Floki would be the first Norseman to reach Iceland. It is believed that his storyline will closely follow that of historical figure Hrafna-Floki Vilgerðarson whose journey was chronicled in Landnamabok.
In an interview with "Vikings" Show creator Michael Hirst said that Floki will try to find a new purpose when the show returns for its fifth season. Instead of seeking glory on the battlefield or following Ragnar's sons, the loss of his own family and his dear friend Ragnar could push him to seek his peace elsewhere, Korea Portal reported.
"Floki is going to commit himself to the gods," Hirst said about "Vikings" Season 5. "His previous life is over - he might as well be dead. The new season will find him submitting to the will of the gods."
It can be recalled that in previous seasons, it was already hinted that Floki would be taking on a bigger part of the storyline as it was teased in "Vikings" Season 4 in the Seer's prophecy. In the scene, the Seer revealed that he has been waiting for Floki for a long time and hinted that Floki may be the new Seer.
