FNC Entertainment Confirms ChoA Will Be Leaving AOA, Seolhyun In Talks For Renewal Of Contract

AOA member ChoA shocked fans when she suddenly announced that she was leaving the group and FNC Entertainment stepped forward immediately to address the issue. Updates from the agency have been released and it seems like there will be changes in the group.

FNC Entertainment has finally announced that ChoA will be officially leaving AOA. The said Idol has revealed days before that she was suffering from insomnia and depression. Because of her mental state, she has expressed her intention to leave the girl group. Fans have actually shown concern for the idol when she stopped showing up at AOA’s promotional activities, even speculating that ChoA will be leaving the group. FNC Entertainment was evidently not aware of her intentions so the agency released a statement that time that ChoA’s departure has not been finalized.

However, FNC Entertainment has released an updated official statement on June 30 regarding this matter. After further discussion with ChoA, the parties decided to let go of the idol. A representative from the agency stated that they have decided to let ChoA go and respected her decision to leave the group. As to the ongoing and future projects of AOA, FNC Entertainment revealed that the members will continue to meet fans in various activities and asked fans to continue supporting and loving the said girl group. ChoA will still attend the upcoming AOA fan event that they have scheduled on July 1.

While ChoA’s case has been settled, another member of AOA is also finalizing her contract. Seolhyun has been revealed to be reconsidering to renew her contract with FNC Entertainment. The idol is currently negotiating with FNC Entertainment. With ChoA leaving, Seolhyun’s presence as one of the most popular members of the group is essential. As of now, the renewal is still in the early stages of discussion so FNC Entertainment cannot make an official statement.
