Girls’ Generation To Make August Comeback; MV Filming For Title Track To Start Next Month
Earlier, sources from SM Entertainment reported that Girls' Generation would be having a comeback for their 10th debut anniversary in August. Now, it has finally been confirmed that the 8-member girl group will be returning after 2 years.
Reports say that Girls' Generation will be holding a special fan meeting to celebrate their 10th anniversary where they will also be showcasing their new comeback song. Girls' Generation celebrates their debut anniversary on August 5th. Last year, the girls released a special song titled '0805' through SM Station to commemorate their 9th year anniversary. It is a melancholic, bittersweet song that expresses their love for their fans who have been supporting them through the years. This time, the girls will be releasing a comeback album in time for the 10th-anniversary fan meeting in August.
Girls' Generation is also slated to start filming for their comeback MV at the end of June or early July. There are no details yet on what their new concept is. Their album was supposedly set to be released by the end of July but was moved back to August instead for unknown reasons. Girl's Generation will be performing their comeback track for the first time during the 10th anniversary fan meeting. This will be Girls' Generation's first comeback since 'Lionheart'.
On August 3, 2007, Girls' Generation released their first ever title track, 'Into The New World' and held their official debut performance on SBS Inkigayo on August 5th. Girl's Generation debuted the same year as Wonder Girls, and are part of the legendary 2nd generation girl groups. Girls' Generation joins girl groups like SISTAR, 4Minute, KARA, and 2NE1 in the 2nd generation batch of K-pop girl groups. Today, most of the 2nd generation groups have disbanded, with only Girls' Generation withstanding the test of time. However, there have been rumors circulating that this year might be their last as a group.
