'Pokemon GO' Fire And Ice Solstice Event Goes Live; Other Gen 2 Monsters Making Their Debut?
Niantic has officially kicked off "Pokemon GO's" anniversary update dubbed the Fire and Ice Solstice Event. Now that two monster types will be frequently seen by trainers in the following days, players are making some wild guesses as to what fire and ice type critters are in store for them.
"Pokemon GO" fans already have an idea on what creatures to expect as it was already hinted on the AR title's announcement photo. However, players are expecting more other than Charmander and Lapras.
Per Forbes, here are some of the creatures to look out for within the new "Pokemon GO" event, though some of them may already have been captured by most trainers. Furthermore, some monsters may be region specific just like the goth-looking canine Houndour whose evolved form is a Houndoom.
Albeit being hailed as one of the weaker Eevee evolutions, Flareon can still be a handy ally in attacking gyms. Nevertheless, the publication suggests that this fire type monster could be one of the rarities within "Pokemon GO."
Classified as both water and ice type, Lapras is expected to be one of the most valued monsters in "Pokemon GO." Despite being nerfed, the blue-skinned swimmer is still a good choice in attacking and defending gyms.
Delibird - a generation 2 Pokemon is believed to be making an appearance in "Pokemon GO's" Fire and Ice event. However, this could still be a long shot as Niantic has never hinted such a thing. If the elusive avian does not come to fruition during the event, trainers can make a do with other Gen 2 Pokemon like Swinub and Sneasel.
Meanwhile, fire type gen 2 Pokemon like the above-mentioned Houndour have already been spotted within "Pokemon GO." Other gen 2 fire types include Cyndaquil and Slugma.
Experience points in "Pokemon GO," on the other hand will be tripled provided that players successfully execute an impressive Pokeball throw or even a curveball. The XP is said to be five times more in every egg being hatched during the event, according to Comicbook. Nonetheless, such won't be the case whenever trainers got their first catch of the day.
"Pokemon GO's" Fire and Ice Event will be up until June 20. Check out a video about the mobile game's newest update here:
