‘Bride Of The Water God’ Latest Teaser Has ‘Goblin’ Feels; Nam Joo Hyuk Unveils Interesting Power
With the upcoming premiere of the new fantasy series "Bride of the Water God," tvN has been releasing several interesting preview clips that featured its lead stars Nam Joo Hyuk and Shin Se Kyung. The drama's recent promo video even appears to have taken a leaf out of "Goblin" given a scene that is reminiscent of Gong Yoo's character's secret garden.
"Bride of the Water God" will mark tvN's recent attempt at introducing another TV adaptation of a South Korean manga series. The said fantasy series will also serve as Nam Joo Hyuk and Shin Se Kyung's first drama project together. In the recent teaser video, as obtained by Soompi, the "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo" actor and the "Girl Who Sees Smells" star were filmed enjoying a quiet walk amidst a lush green field.
The said scene was somewhat similar to the one featured in "Goblin" that showed Gong Yoo's titular character seeking respite in his magical garden filled with buckwheat flowers. However, what set the "Bride of the Water God" shot apart from the hit tvN series' scene was the rainy scenario and the absence of the white colored blooms.
Apart from resembling a scene from Gong Yoo's "Goblin," the said "Bride of the Water God" clip also provided Kdrama fans with a glimpse of Nam Joo Hyuk's character's ability to control and stop the rain. With the actor portraying the modern-day version of the water god Ha Baek, the said character is destined to meet and fall in love with Shin Se Kyung's character, the doctor So Ah.
Meanwhile, an earlier released promo clip for "Bride of the Water God," as posted on All Kpop, gave fans a look at the onscreen chemistry between Nam Joo Hyuk and Shin Se Kyung. The said preview even parodied a famous aquarium scene from the 1996 Hollywood movie "Romeo + Juliet" that starred Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes.
"Bride of the Water God" is slated to premiere on July 3 on tvN. Watch the latest promo clip below:
