The Prince Of Wales & Duchess Of Cornwall Visit New Zealand - Day 2

Prince Charles and Camilla are on a 12-day royal tour starting in New Zealand and then to neighboring country Australia, according to People.

The royal couple arrived to a rainy and windy tarmac at Wellington International Airport, sources stated. They were greeted by Prime Minister John Key and his wife, Bronagh, and other dignitaries.

After the greetings Mr. Key left for nearby Government House for a ceremonial welcome with New Zealand's governor-general Sir Jerry Mateparae.

Just a few hours after their plane touched down, Prince Charles and Camilla went to the National War Memorial in Wellington to pay their respects to the country's fallen. The royal couple laid ferns on the tomb of the Unknown Warrior.

Prince Charles and Camilla attended a wreath laying ceremony as well at the National War Memorial, and chatted with veterans.

The Prince and the Duchess of Cornwall's itinerary includes visits to Dunedin, Nelson, Ngaruawahia, New Plymouth and Auckland, reports BBC.

Another stop for Prince Charles and Camilla will be Turangawaewae Marae. This is the home of the Maori monarchs, where they will view a flotilla of canoes on the Waikato. This is New Zealand's longest river on the North Island.

The royals also will visit the home of some of New Zealand's rarest birds, reptiles, and plants. The Orokonui Eco-Sanctuary is located in the most protected forest in the South Island. Charles and Camilla's visit marks New Zealand's Conservation week.

The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall will then travel to Australia. Adelaide would be the Royal couple's first stop, then to Tanunda, Canberra, Sydney, Albany and Perth.

Charles and Camilla will meet new Prime Minister MalcolmTurnbull, a vocal republican. The Prince will meet Mr. Turnbull on Nov.11, Canberra's Remembrance Day.

This would be Prince Charles' fifteenth time to visit Australia, and will be celebrating his sixty seventh birthday on Nov. 14 with a beachside barbeque in Western Australia.
