Adult Swim has teased that a familiar figure will be making a return in an upcoming episode of 'Rick and Morty" Season 3. It seems that Pickle Rick will be making a return soon to hit animated franchise.

According to a report by Inverse, Rick will turn himself into a giant pickle and will adopt a similar storyline to James Franco's film "127 hours." In turning himself into a pickle, Rick is transforming into a literal symbol of the saying "in a pickle."

According to Ryan Ridley, one of the writers for "Rick and Morty" said that they will be taking their cue for Season 3 from famous movies and one of them happens to be "127 Hours." For those wondering what Pickle Rick would be doing in a 127 Hours setting, Ridley explained that Rick will be alone for the episode and find himself needing to survive in an impossible situation - in a pickle and as a pickle.

Ridley said that the "Rick and Morty" episode featuring Pickle Rick will have a survivalist sub-genre which will definitely get the fans hooked on a new way of storytelling. An earlier clip shown at the San Diego Comic-Con 2016 teased a clip where Rick tries to defend himself from a colony of rats using limbs from fallen bugs. It would be interesting to see him get out of the pickle when the show returns to Adult Swim this summer.

Korea Portal has earlier reported that "Rick and Morty" Season 3 is expected to be aired on July this year. The second episode entitled "Rickmancing the Stone" is expected to take its cue from "Romancing the Stone" wherein Morty will have to help Rick save his sister Summer Smith from danger. "Rick and Morty" Season 3 Episode 1 entitled "The Rickshank Redemption" was aired last April 1 as a surprise for fans who have been waiting for a long time for the new season. It also gave them a taste of the hilarity to come.
