The Seoul Central Court has set the first trial date for BIG BANG rapper T.O.P. after he was charged before the prosecutor's office for marijuana use. The court has set the trial date for June 29 although it is unsure if adjustments will be made if T.O.P. does not regain consciousness by the time.

According to a report by Koreaboo, the respondent, BIG BANG's T.O.P whose real name is Choi Seunghyun must appear before the court to make a statement on the case. However, the BIG BANG rapper is currently still in critical condition in the intensive care unit of Ewha University Hospital after he was found unconscious due to an overdose of anti-anxiety medicine.

Based on a medical briefing made by T.O.P's doctors in charge of his case, the BIG BANG rapper remains in an unconscious state and in critical condition after drug tests performed on the YG artists showed that he may have ingested an excessive amount of benzodiazepine. Doctors have not yet determined how much the rapper has ingested but only said that it was a lot based on the results of the test.

Doctors also refused to comment on whether T.O.P. may have been attempting suicide or simply lost track of the amount of anti-anxiety meds he had taken. Instead, they are now focused on monitoring his carbon dioxide levels and his breathing which was affected by respiratory failure when he was rushed to the hospital. Doctors said they are now working with the neurology and psychiatric departments for T.O.P's treatment, YG United reported.

T.O.P's doctors are unsure when T.O.P. would regain consciousness or if there will be complications when he wakes. However, they are estimating that the rapper will wake up in a week's time based on previous cases.

It can be recalled that T.O.P. was recently dismissed from service as a conscripted policeman pending the results of the drug charges filed against him. T.O.P. was found positive for marijuana in a drug test performed on his hair follicle in March by the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency while he was enlisted for mandatory service. T.O.P. and YG Entertainment, through their statements, admitted that the rapper used marijuana last year before his enlistment and apologized for his mistake. However, the case is now with the prosecutor's office for investigation.
