‘Goblin’ Actor Gong Yoo Auctions Off Personal Items For Good Cause
Gong Yoo delighted his avid followers when he held a unique fan event in South Korea. The "Goblin" actor participated in a charity bazaar where he even sold some of his personal belongings.
The "Train to Busan" star recently fulfilled one of the things that he wanted to do with his fans. Gong Yoo held a charity bazaar on May 27, Saturday, in Seoul where he bonded with fans and personally auctioned off several items such as framed pictures and others, Korea Herald reported.
Dubbed "Beautiful Moment," Gong Yoo's charity bazaar was attended by around 700 fans. During the said event, the "Goblin" star shared that he personally prepared some of the activities since it was a project that he always wanted to do. Apart from forming a stronger relationship with his fanbase, it also served as a way to express his appreciation for the fans' support over the years, according to the actor.
Gong Yoo even conveyed his apologies to some of the fans who were not able to join the charity event. He also recounted how he had a busy 2016 given filming and promotion activities for two of his recent hit productions namely "Train to Busan" and the tvN fantasy series "Goblin."
Meanwhile, the proceeds of Gong Yoo's unique fan event will be donated to charity. However, the actor's agency, Management SOOP, did not disclose the organizations that will benefit from the said bazaar.
In other news, Gong Yoo gave a candid interview with CNN Talk Asia where he talked about his career, the popularity of the drama "Goblin," as well the downside of being a Hallyu star. Having been a part of the South Korean entertainment industry for almost two decades, the actor shared that he would usually look for potential projects with a unique storyline or a fresh concept.
When asked about the massive popularity of the drama "Goblin," Gong Yoo confessed that he had no idea that the said tvN series would be a big hit. He also admitted to hating the attention that comes with being famous but recognized that it was something that he had to endure given his profession.
