Does SEVENTEEN have what it takes to conquer a world stage? Billboard seems to think so as it credits the group for being one of "the most innovative K-pop groups" in the industry.

In its review for SEVENTEEN's comeback album "AI1," Billboard credited the K-pop group for switching up their sound by releasing an EDM track as compared to it's usual preppy and pop sound. According to the site, this is a positive indication that the group is exploring its musical depth which adds a diversity to the group's usual sound.

"Two years into their career, it's a surprising, but very welcome, move, and hopefully Seventeen will continue to impress with future releases," Billboard said in its review, placing particular emphasis on the comeback track "Don't Wanna Cry." Billboard said that this positive showing sits well with SEVENTEEN's plans to have a world tour this August which will include stops in Chicago, Dallas, Toronto and New York.

It can be recalled that BTS, who recently made history for K-pop when it won Top Social Artist at the Billboard Music Awards. BTS has been performing well consistently in the Billboard charts since it entered the list last October and has broken the record of "One Direction" as the best performing musical group on the chart. It also sold out the US-led of its tour which was part of its Wings World Tour. With the recent positive performance of SEVENTEEN, it can actually follow the path set by the senior K-pop group.

SEVENTEEN's "AI1" also performed well in terms of sales as it managed to sell 80,000 units in three days according to Hanteo. "AI1" also topped the charts in four countries including Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, the Philippines, and Singapore. SEVENTEEN's comeback album also entered the top of the charts in Japan, Vietnam, and Hong Kong, US, and Canada, Kpopstarz reported.
