Yoo Seung Ho Receives Praise For Impressive ‘Ruler: Master Of The Mask’ Action Scenes
"Ruler: Master of the Mask" lead star Yoo Seung Ho has been delighting avid viewers with his impressive acting in the said MBC historical series. Recently, the former child star's dedication in learning the action sequences needed for the drama was applauded by the series' martial arts director.
Yoo Seung Ho is one of the celebrities in the South Korean entertainment industry who successfully transitioned from being a child star into a talented actor. Known for his expressive eyes and solid acting performances, the "Operation Proposal" star was recently praised for his portrayal of the crown prince turned peddler chief named Sun in the MBC drama "Ruler: Master of the Mask."
The actor's efforts to learn the action scenes needed in "Ruler: Master of the Mask" was highlighted by the series' martial arts director Jung Doo Hong. In a recent interview, he commended Yoo Seung Ho for the said celebrity's dedication to delivering excellent action sequences, Korean news outlet eNews24 cited the martial arts director as saying.
Yoo Seung Ho would even spend hours trying to master the sword fighting moves and can be seen constantly practicing, according to the "Ruler: Master of the Mask" martial arts director. Given the actor's strong yet light body, Jung Doo Hong even commented that the young star has the talent to do more action scenes in future projects.
Meanwhile, "Ruler: Master of the Mask" consistently topped the Wednesday-Thursday primetime drama rating race. Yoo Seung Ho's historical series recently posted its highest viewership shares to-date with episode 12 reaching ratings of 13.8 percent across the South Korean nation, according to Nielsen Korea.
"Ruler: Master of the Mask" tells the story of the masked crown prince Sun and the commoner Sun caught in the middle of a power struggle. Portrayed by Yoo Seung Ho and INFINITE's L, respectively, the commoner Sun was forced to assume the crown prince's identity after a series of tragic events, while the real Sun lived a different life in an effort to bring down a villainous group adamant to take control of the nation's water supply.
