‘Supernatural’ Alum Mark Sheppard Slams Showrunner Over ‘Misleading’ Info About Crowley’s Return
The season 12 finale of "Supernatural" was an emotional rollercoaster for avid viewers given the number of character deaths including Mark Sheppard's Crowley. Recently, the actor addressed speculations that he might be asked to reprise his role and even corrected a "misleading" information shared by one of the series' showrunners.
"Supernatural" boasts an eclectic mix of characters that includes angels, demons, hunters and more. One of the interesting characters that played a major role in the Season 12 finale was Mark Sheppard's Crowley who sacrificed himself to defeat Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino).
The actor's exit surprised many fans especially after he uploaded a message on social media where he thanked his "Supernatural" family and avid fans for their support. Mark Sheppard even indicated that it was time for him to try out something new.
Shortly after the said celebrity posted his message, co-showrunner Jim Michaels conveyed his appreciation for the actor's hard work on "Supernatural." However, he teased that Mark Sheppard might return to the CW series, TV Line reported. Michaels wrote, "We never say never Mark!"
The "Supernatural" co-showrunners social media statement was soon corrected by Mark Sheppard who highlighted that Michaels comment was "inaccurate and misleading to fans." The actor explained that there were no discussions or plans about his potential return to the series.
@TheJimMichaels With all due respect, your comment is inaccurate and misleading to the fans. There are NO plans to have me return to SPN at ANY juncture.

In other news, avid "Supernatural" fans can look forward to seeing Castiel (Misha Collins) in upcoming episodes. Despite being one of the characters who died in the Season 12 finale, the said angel will again appear in "Supernatural" Season 13.
The said character's return to the CW series was accidentally confirmed by Jared Padalecki during a recent convention in Rome. Portraying Sam in "Supernatural," the actor and his co-star Jensen Ackles, who plays Dean, were answering questions about the show's upcoming animated crossover with "Scooby Doo."
Highlighting that it will serve as episode 16 of the upcoming "Supernatural" season, Padalecki revealed that he, Ackles and Collins, who portrays Castiel, already completed recording activities for the said chapter, Digital Spy reported.
