'One Punch Man' Season 2 Spoilers: Will Season 2 To Pay Homage To 'Dragonball Z'? Anime On Track To Premiere This November

by Choi Ahn Jie / May 17, 2017 06:27 AM EDT

Very little is known about "One Punch Man" Season 2 but speculations are rife on the internet that the upcoming season of the anime will be as exciting as expected. For one, Season 2 is expected to pay an homage to the epic long-running series "Dragonball Z," much like its manga counterpart.

According to a report by Geek, the "One Punch Man" manga recently featured a panel that took inspiration from a scene from the "Dragonball Z" manga. The report said that "One Punch Man" Season 2 could adopt this particular homage from the manga. The panel shows Saitama throwing a powerful punch to the solar plexus against his opponent which is reminiscent of Gokou's move in the original series.

Should "One Punch Man" Season 2 choose to go the route of its manga origins, it would not be a major surprise. The series creator has openly admitted that he is a major fan of Dragonball Z creator Akira Toriyama.

Aside from a nod to Dragonball Z, "One Punch Man" Season 2 is also rumored to showcase powerful opponents who will challenge Saitama, the world's most powerful hero. It has previously been reported by Korea Portal that this season may introduce Saitama to his first defeat.

However, it is yet unsure who will be villain powerful enough to counter Saitama's attacks in "One Punch Man" Season 2. It is expected that Lord Boros from Season 1 will make a comeback despite his defeat the first time around. However, this time around, his pride will compel him to team up with more villains to beef up his chances of defeating Saitama in their rematch.

Garou is also being considered as a major threat to Saitama in "One Punch Man" Season 2 because he is the only villain who is able to withstand Saitama's punches. It remains to be seen if he is powerful enough to defeat the hero with his attacks. The second season of the hit anime is expected to premiere late this year around November.
