BTS may be one of the hottest musical groups in the world but this does not mean that its members are exempt from the trials that regular people face. BTS member Suga recently opened up about dealing with depression over his appearance, which has caused him a lot of anxiety.

According to a report by Koreaboo, Suga admitted that his experience with depression dates back to his pre-debut days and that it continues to be a force that drives his music. He shared that his issues with his body images come from the fact that he used to have a big frame, which he had to overcome by constantly exercising.

However, when Suga injured his shoulder from too much exercise, he admitted that he felt helpless about his condition at the time. He used his feelings to write part of the track "Tomorrow" where he expressed his frustration about not being able to move forward from his issues regarding his weight.

Fans have recently expressed alarm over Suga's statement that he intends on losing weight even though he might already be underweight. The BTS rapper said that he felt like he had no choice seeing as he was part of an industry that places premium over appearances. He, however, asked fans not to worry because he will not lose all the weight drastically which is an unhealthy method, All Kpop reported.

BTS' Suga has been using his music to raise awareness of issues like depression, mental health issues and body image insecurities that most of the people his age go through. His songs on his mixtape "Agust D", in particular, highlight that the impact that these issues play on the well-being of the youth. He said that he wants to play a role in turning people's attention towards these issues.

"The press is raising issues with the standard of beauty as how thin someone is. On the other side of the world, however, there are those who die from starvation," Suga said in an interview. "We should be more interested in that. If I become influential and honorable, I will try to turn people's attention towards [these issues]."
