BTS Dominates May Brand Reputation Chart For Kpop Boy Bands, Beats EXO & Big Bang

The latest brand reputation chart for South Korea's K-pop boy bands was recently released with BTS at the top of the list. With the seven-member group besting bands such as EXO and Big Bang, the May ranking marked the seventh consecutive month that BTS reigned over the said chart.

BTS nabbed the number one spot on the brand reputation list for Kpop boy bands for the period of April 12 until May 13. The septet registered a brand reputation score of 7,899,583, according to the Korean Business Research Institute, as cited by Soompi.

Given the K-pop group's recent activities coupled with the popularity of their track "Blood, Sweat and Tears" on local and international charts, BTS' brand reputation scores rose 21.74 percent as compared to the previous month. Moreover, many of the online keywords linked with the said group that boosted the band's branding included the Japanese chart Oricon and the Billboard Music Awards.

Apart from BTS, one of South Korea's veteran bands made it to the top five of the said list. SECHSKIES nabbed the second spot with 5,539,871 points, while WINNER landed at number three with 5,426,260 points. EXO came in at fourth place followed by Big Bang, SHINee, BTOB, INFINITE, SEVENTEEN and HIGHLIGHT.

Meanwhile, BTS' "Blood, Sweat and Tears" recently reigned over Japan's Oricon Daily chart for the fourth consecutive days, Korea Herald reported. Released in the said Asian country on May 9, the Japanese version of the Kpop band's song rose to the top of the Oricon chart within 24 hours after it was released.

Other BTS songs that previously made it to the said Japan music chart included the K-pop group's tracks "For You" and "I Need You." The band's 2016 hit "Run" also charted on the Oricon chart during its release.

BTS' song "Blood, Sweat and Tears" is part of the Kpop band's second studio album titled "Wings." The said album was released in October 2016.
