'Supernatural' Season 12 Spoilers: Mary To Be The Main Villain Of Season 13; Winchesters Face Off With Lucifer In Two-Hour Season Finale
The stage is all set for next week's two-hour season of finale of The CW's beloved horror series "Supernatural" Season 12. With the events that transpired in this week's episode, rumors are rife that Mary Winchester could become next season's big bad villain, unfortunately for Sam and Dean.
According to a recap by Den of Geek, the Winchesters did a pretty great job in leading the hunters in the fight against the British Men of Letters in "Supernatural" Season 12 episode 21 entitled "There's Something About Mary." While the Americans were outnumbered and some casualty emerged from the episode, Sam and Dean kept a level head and did not let emotions get the best of them.
In contrast, the British Men of Letters were overwhelmed by the strategy employed by the American hunters leading them to falter in the face of a possible defeat. Their brainwashing of Mary Winchester came in handy for the bad guys in this episode of "Supernatural" Season 12.
While Lucifer's child has been mainly the center of attention this season as everyone struggles to control the fallen angel's baby, it would seem that Mary Winchester could very well be the foil that the villain needs to hamper the Winchesters' crusade against them. Having Mary be the villain for Season 13 is also in line with the trajectory of "Supernatural" for the past dozen seasons.
On May 18, "Supernatural" Season 12 is set to air its 22nd and 23rd episodes back to back. With Robert Singer directing the episode written by no less than showrunner Andrew Dabb, the finale promises to be an explosive end to the season which would set the direction for "Supernatural" Season 13. In the episode entitled "Who We Are" Sam and Dean will have to rely on each other as the fight between the British Men of Letters and the American hunters reach its climax. The final episode entitled "All Along the Watchtower," Sam, Dean, and Cas face off with Lucifer for control of his child, SpoilerTV reported.
"Supernatural" Season 12 Episode 22 and 23 are set to air on The CW on May 18 starting 8 pm ET. The show has also been renewed for a 13th season, making the show the longest supernatural drama in the US.
