The new Xbox One update 2017 showcases a bevy of backward compatible game titles, new system version update details and the console's upcoming new feature. Microsoft is certainly not slowing down when it comes to improving their next-generation game system.

First off, the tech giant teased their new console variant dubbed the Xbox Scorpio, a console that is reported to have a 100 percent backwards compatibility feature. However, this doesn't mean that Microsoft is willing to lessen the support for the original Xbox One console.

In fact, Microsoft just added seven new titles to the console's Backwards Compatibility program, according to Express. The Xbox One May 2017 update includes the Backwards Compatible titles "Hard Corps: Uprising", "Harms Way", Band of Bugs", "Bullet Soul", "Bullet Soul- Infinite Burst", "Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2" and "Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions."

This bumps the Xbox One's Backwards Compatible games list count to more than 350 titles. With that being said, it is expected that this number will constantly increase in the future as more Backwards Compatible games are made available, specially once the Xbox Scorpio fully emerges onto the scene.

As far as the Xbox One 2017 update is concerned, details of the upcoming system update has now emerged. According to GameSpot, the Xbox One Alpha Build 1705.170505-1900 comes with some noteworthy fixes. These fixes include some localization improvements, a patch that fixes a glitch that prevents users from joining tournaments, a fix for certain games to no longer appear on the "Apps" menu while being installed, and a fix for uninstalled games appearing as installed in "Apps."

While some fixes are minor upgrades or patch-ups, it's still unclear when the official system update releases to the general public. As for now, the Xbox One Alpha build is only available to preview testers. On the other hand, it is reported that Microsoft is prepping to release their new feature called Game Pass real soon. This intriguing new subscription-based service gives users access to a library of 100 games, including Backwards Compatible titles, for a fee of $10 a month.
