Kevin Hart And Ellen DeGeneres Team Up With YouTube To Produce Free Original Shows
7th May 2017: Streaming services have become hugely popular in the recent years. The likes of Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime, have all surpassed the online giant YouTube, in terms of original content. Google plans on mixing things up and has announced 6 new shows starring celebrities like Kevin Hart, Ellen DeGeneres etc.
Ellen DeGeneres is set to premiere a new show on YouTube in which the Emmy Award Winning Talk Show host will give a behind the scenes look at her world-famous talk show.
Kevin Hart, on the other hand, is set to release a show called "What the Fit". Kevin plans on inviting celebrities to his show and then try different workout routines together.
Other shows include "Best Cover Ever" which will be hosted by Ryan Seacrest. The show will simply be a music competition that will be held on YouTube. YouTube celebrities Rhett and Link will expand the "Good Mythical Morning Show" by inviting more guests and correspondents.
Demi Lovato has also teamed up with YouTube and will star in a show that will cover the process of writing and recording a new music album. One source reported that YouTube plans on funding over 40 different original shows and movies in the next coming year. YouTube also plans on increasing its budget for YouTube Red.
According to insider reports, YouTube plans on introducing Red shows that are on par with HBO TV shows and cost between $3 million to $6 million per hour. If this were to hold true, then YouTube poses a major threat to all the online streaming service in the short span of next year.
