‘Produce 101’ Season 2 Spoilers: Trainee Kang Daniel Issues Apology For Alleged Foul Play
"Produce 101" Season 2 trainee Kang Daniel recently apologized for his alleged foul play on the hit reality TV cum variety show.
Following the episode that aired on May 5, the top 60 trainees who will be moving on to the next round of the competition were named. Kang Daniel was not only one of the lucky trainees to have made it through; he was also the one leading the votes.
However, the performer came under fire after he was accused of changing his Instagram description by including the title of the song that he wants to perform on the show. This isn't allowed because it appears to sway the voters towards a specific direction.
To make things worse, Soompi also reported that trainees who will post information about "Produce 101" on their social media accounts will receive a 10-point penalty. In some cases, they may also be removed from the show entirely. Following the controversy, Kang Daniel apologized to his fans and critics for posting about the show before recalling the rules.
Unfortunately, some unforgiving viewers are urging the people behind "Produce 101" to penalize Kang Daniel in the practice of fairness. A representative from the show responded by saying that they will review the incident and will impose proper action based on their findings.
"We have seen the controversy and are looking into what has happened. We will discuss the actions that will be taken after we figure out the situation," the statement read.
Meanwhile, another "Produce 101" Season 2 trainee was involved in another social media debacle. Trainee Yoon Si Jung made his Instagram private after receiving malicious comments from critics who couldn't believe that he made it in third place. Yoon Si Jung, 27, started appearing on the show five years ago and was ranked 35th among the other trainees.
