OnePlus X Specs Revealed; Smartphone Could Compete With Top Phone Brands For Cheaper Price?
A Chinese manufactured smartphone OnePlus X will soon be released on Nov. 19 in USA, according to The Verge. Specualtions say that said device will be able to compete with top phone brands for a cheaper price.
By the looks of the OnePlus X, it can be priced for $500 instead of the $249 original price. The phone has garnered great reviews about its specifications as it could compete with top phone brands in terms of aesthetic quality in the industry, according to The Verge.
OnePlus X is not a middle range smartphone insisted by the company's co-founder Carl Pei saying, "We still don't have a good way of categorizing this type of device," he told The Verge.
"We're never going to make a phone for $100 or $150. Our goal is always to make really great products, and at that price point it's not possible. You can't afford to make it using these materials," he added.
OnePlus X has materials made from zirconia ceramic and a glass back casing. The phone's specifications include a quadcore 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 801, 16 GB of external storage upgradeable to 128GB and 3GB of RAM. OnePlus X's main camera is 13 megapixel with flash and has eight-megapixel front one, according to Tech Times.
The OnePlus X screen is a five inches Corning Gorilla Glass 3 AMOLED display with capacitive buttons and has a dual-SIM feature. The phone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with their own Oxygen OS and a built in 2,525 LiPo battery, phone specs according to XDA developers.
Oneplus believes that the X version will be more marketable than the previous phone versions from their recent released flagship series. Pei said in a statement that, "The incremental benefit of adding super high specs on a phone is decreasing," reported in The Verge.
Oneplus X will be named Onyx and the company will release a limited ceramic version with 10,000 units before Christmas for European and Indian clients, according to Tech Times.
