'Produce 101 Season 2' contestant and YGKplus trainee Kwon Hyun Bin became a hot topic of discussion after the April 28 broadcast of 'Produce 101 Season 2'. In the latest episode of the show, the trainee was seen not participating in the group's practice sessions and looking generally uninterested.
Kwon Hyun Bin's team was slated to perform a cover of Super Junior's "Sorry Sorry" but viewers were immediately turned off by the trainee's lack of participation when other members of his group were putting in a lot of effort in rehearsing. When a 'Produce 101 Season 2' dance trainer called him out for lacking preparation, the group's leader and Pledis trainee Kim Jong Hyun instantly came to Kwon Hyun Bin's defense, saying "It's my fault, I didn't do a good job being the leader."
Despite constantly disappearing during rehearsals, the group managed to win the group battle, with Kwon Hyun Bin even raking in the most onsite votes (142 votes) among his team members. 'Produce 101 Season 2' viewers were not happy with the results, even after his statements that he "put everything on the line for this".

Viewers of the show took to online forums, sharing screenshots of the contestant looking aloof even as he was being reprimanded by their group leader. One user commented, "Kwon Hyun Bin's stance looks like he's the one reprimanding Kim Jong Hyun", citing a screenshot of Kim Jong Hyun respectfully confronting an indifferent Kwon Hyun Bin.
After the episode, upset viewers decided to vent and air out their frustrations on Kwon Hyun Bin's personal Instagram account by flooding the comment sections with criticism and harsh words. The backlash then prompted the 'Produce 101 Season 2' contestant to delete all the photos on his Instagram account completely.
