Girls Generation’s YoonA Voted Most Beautiful Korean Celebrity In China, Beats ‘Descendants Of The Sun’ Star Song Hye Kyo
Girls Generation's YoonA recently nabbed an impressive accolade in China. The Kpop idol turned actress was chosen as one of the most beautiful Asian female celebrities, besting the "Descendants of the Sun" actress Song Hye Kyo and T-ARA's Jiyeon.
"The K2" actress was voted by Chinese netizens as among the Top 5 beautiful Asian female stars in China. Girls Generation's YoonA nabbed the second spot in a Baidu online poll, Koreaboo reported. The Kpop idol became one of the popular South Korean celebrities in China given her recent drama project in the said Asian country titled "God of War: Zhao Yun."
Apart from Girls Generation's YoonA, other South Korean female stars who made it to the said list includes Song Hye Kyo and T-ARA's Jiyeon. The "Descendants of the Sun" actress came in at number four, followed by the Kpop singer at number five. At the top of the most beautiful Asian female celebrity list is the Chinese star Gao Yuanyuan while Fan Bingbing nabbed the third spot.
Meanwhile, avid fans of Girls Generation's YoonA will soon see the singer in a new series. The Kpop singer will play one of the lead roles in the upcoming historical series "The King Loves." Recently, the MBC production shared a photo still, as obtained by All Kpop, from the said drama that showed the said celebrity in a cute pose.
In the said image, Girls Generation's YoonA was pictured trying to sneak behind her "The King Loves" co-star Siwan while Hong Jong Hyun observed the singer's actions. Set in what appears to be a forest filled with blooming flowers, the said image also featured the three cast members wearing traditional costumes as they portrayed their characters for the upcoming series.
"The King Loves" tells the story of three characters namely the ambitious crown prince Wang Won, his childhood friend turned bodyguard Wang Rin and the daughter of a wealthy family Eun San. Siwan and "Scarlet Heart: Ryeo" actor Hong Jong Hyun will portray the crown prince and bodyguard, respectively, while Girls Generation's YoonA will play Eun San.
Girls Generation's YoonA's upcoming drama "The King Loves" is currently in production. The series is expected to premiere sometime 2017.
