‘Goblin,’ Gong Yoo, Lee Dong Wook, Yoo In Na, Kim Go Eun Nab Major Honors From Drama Fever Awards
"Goblin" was identified as the biggest winner at the 5th Drama Fever Awards where the production and its main cast members received several honors. Gong Yoo, Lee Dong Wook, Yoo In Na and Kim Go Eun each nabbed an award given their acting skills and explosive onscreen chemistry.
Several months after "Goblin" released its final episode on the South Korean cable channel tvN, the fantasy series continues to reach impressive achievements. The drama and its main cast members nabbed five awards from the annual awards event of the Warner Bros.' acquired online streaming site Drama Fever.
In an online poll participated by more than 3 million Drama Fever users, netizens chose "Goblin" as the Best Korean series in the Melodrama category. Gong Yoo's tvN drama bested "Signal," "The K2," Park Shin Hye's "Doctors," "Uncontrollably Fond" and the hit "Descendants of the Sun," according to an announcement posted on the said streaming site.
Gong Yoo's portrayal as the titular character in "Goblin" also earned him a Best Actor honor. Lee Dong Wook and Yoo In Na were even named Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress, respectively. Moreover, the "Coffee Prince" actor and his co-star Kim Go Eun received the Best Couple accolade.
Apart from "Goblin," the tvN series "Cinderella and the Four Knights" was named the Best Comedy Drama. For the production with the Best Cast Ensemble, Drama Fever users chose "Scarlet Heart: Ryeo" as the winner of the said award. Lee Joon Ki and IU's drama also nabbed the Best Korean series in the Historical category.
In other news, "Goblin" actress Kim Go Eun is set to embark on her first fan meeting. In a recent announcement made by the actress agency, as obtained by Korea Herald, HODU&U Entertainment revealed that the upcoming event will serve as the said celebrity's way to return the love and support that she received from fans.
"Goblin" aired from early December 2016 until late January. Meanwhile, Kim Go Eun's fan meeting will be held on May 21 at the Sungshin Women's University Mia WoonJung Green Campus auditorium.
