‘Suspicious Partner’ Star Ji Chang Wook Drops Tough Guy Image, ‘Healer’ Actor Receives Comedic Kick In New Promo
"Suspicious Partner" will soon delight avid Ji Chang Wook and Nam Ji Hyun fans when the series finally makes its small screen debut in May. Recently, the drama's promo clip showed the "Healer" actor in a romantic yet comedic scene that shed his tough guy image from previous productions.
Ji Chang Wook has been known to portray action roles where the actor showed off his impressive fighting and stunt skills. However, the "Healer" actor's role in the upcoming SBS romantic comedy suspense series successfully obliterated his previous image. Titled "Suspicious Partner," the production's latest clip featured the South Korean star on the receiving end of a flying kick.
In the said "Suspicious Partner" promo video, posted on Soompi, Ji Chang Wook can be seen standing at one end of what appears to be indoor court. Eyeing Nam Ji Hyun while she ties her hair several steps ahead of him, the "Healer" actor narrates the familiar lines of the first-love poem featured in "Goblin."
When Nam Ji Hyun turns to face Ji Chang Wook, the actor extends his hands to the side in an inviting hug as the actress runs towards him. However, the said scene ended with the actress giving her co-star a strong kick to the face that had him flying off to the side with a devastated look on his face. It appears that two "Suspicious Partners" cast members will have a complicated relationship in the said drama.
Ji Chang Wook will portray the hotshot and intelligent prosecutor Jin Wook, while Nam Ji Hyun will play the newbie lawyer Bong Hee. A series of murder cases will bring the two characters together in the upcoming SBS drama "Suspicious Partner."
In other news, recently released photo stills from the "Suspicious Partner" filming set, as obtained by All Kpop, showed Ji Chang Wook's Jin Wook rescuing Nam Ji Hyun's Bong Hee after discovering her boyfriend, portrayed by 2PM's Chansung, cheating on her with another woman at a hotel. Falling limply to her knees on the floor, Jin Wook will help Bong Soon up and lead her away from the scene.
"Suspicious Partner" is slated to premiere on May 10 on SBS. New episodes will be released every Wednesday and Thursday.
