"Produce 101" Season 2 was recently criticized about their supposed unfair voting system in the third-week episode. Now, the program finally released a statement answering the viewers' comments regarding the confusing total votes.

According to Soompi, "Produce 101" Season 2 official statement said that it believed to have used a fair voting system for the last episode of the show. It sees no problem with using the "total" of the votes rather than its average.

"We chose such a point system for the group battle evaluation because there are so many components that can be at play other than which trainee is in the group, such as individual talent and teamwork." This is part of the "Produce 101" Season 2 reply about the voting system controversy. It also noted that through this smaller groups could still win despite its disadvantage.

Further, "Produce 101" Season 2 officials also revealed that the trainees know what's going to happen beforehand. All the possibilities were explained to them before they chose their members and songs. Notably, they were also the one who chose their rival group.

The end of the "Produce 101" Season 2 stated that it would also consider the audience's comments regarding the show. In essence, they try to do better and give everyone healthier competitions in the next segments.

On the other hand, Allkpop's prior report shared what was the outcome of the controversial third-week voting. Check out here who came out on the top spots this time.

"Produce 101" Season 2 third week ranking still kept Maroo Entertainment's Park Ji Hoon on the lead. He was seconded by Brand New Music's Lee Dae Hwi with Brave Entertainment's Samuel Kim on the third.

Meanwhile, Ong Sung Woo from Fantagio remained still at 4th place. Yuehua Entertainment's Ahn Hyung Seop and Creker Entertainment's Joo Hak Nyun followed him on the fifth and sixth place. The rest swapped and changed position due to the controversial "Produce 101" Season 2 group performances.
