After the hype from the recent "Star Wars Episode 8 The Last Jedi" trailer reveal in Orlando, talks are also building up about the anthology films in between the series' main sequels. Recent news suggests that the franchise from the galaxy far, far away has tapped "Mr. Robot" creator to help them with the anthology's screenplay.

If the current word on the street is anything to go by, "Mr. Robot's" Sam Esmail is rumored to be having discussions with Lucasfilm in scribing one of their projects that is likely to be the Obi-Wan Kenobi spinoff. Additionally, reports also suggest that the screenwriter/director has met with the film outfit numerous times and pitched in some of his works about the yet to be announced anthology, Screen Rant noted.

Fans who attended the recently concluded Star Wars Celebration came to notice that actor Ewan McGregor was a no-show during the event that made faithfuls speculate that something's cooking between the actor and Disney.

Korea Portal has noted beforehand about such rumors between McGregor and Disney. It can be recalled that the actor sat down with Collider in 2016 about the possible "Star Wars" anthology film featuring Obi-Wan's life story between the events in Episodes 3 and 4. When asked if he already met with Lucasfilm CEO Kathleen Kennedy, McGregor paused for a bit as if he was having second thoughts in confirming such meeting if such actually transpired.

Meanwhile, actress Rosario Dawson - who plays as Claire Temple in Netflix's "Daredevil," "Iron Fist," "Jessica Jones," and "Luke Cake," is also making quite a buzz as of late as quite a number of "Star Wars" fans find Dawson perfect to play the part of the Togruta Jedi Padawan - Ashoka Tano, Express reported. Dawson recently appeared on "Good Morning America" and was asked about a possible "Star Wars" role. The actress replied that she is aware of it and asked the film's fandom and even the internet to help her out.

"Star Wars Episode 8 The Last Jedi" will be released on December 15 while the Han Solo spinoff has an initial release date of May 25, 2018. Check out a couple of videos featuring Dawson and McGregor's interview here:
