Girl's Generation's Sooyoung, Yura, 2PM's Nichkhun, GOT7's Jinyoung Join Cast Of JTBC Web Series To Premiere On July 31

JTBC is going all out for its series of web dramas as it books the hottest actors and K-pop stars for its lineup of shows. Among the stars who have been confirmed to star are Sooyoung, Yura, Nichkhun and Jinyoung.

According to a report by Soompi, JTBC is embarking on the series of web shows to diversify its reach and provide a platform for new writers and directors to shine and gain experience. JTBC producing director Oh Hwan Min said that the web is the best platform to explore these possibilities in an unconstrained environment.

Based on the lineup, the first JTBC web drama will be called "A Person You Could Know" which will topbill Girls' Generation's Sooyoung. She will be joined by Lee Won Geun and Shim Hee Sup for the drama that will revolve around a person who unlocks a former lover's phone and reminisces about their relationship.

The second JTBC web drama has a musical theme and is called "Hip Hop Teacher" which centers around a teacher who creates a hip hop project to engage his elementary school students. Lee Joo Young, Girl's Day's Yura, and An Woo Yeon will lead the cast of characters.

The third JTBC web drama called "Somehow 18" has a time traveling concept about a man who revisits the time he was 18 years old to save his first love from dying. Like the other shows,  it will be a light romantic comedy despite the heavy concept.

The fourth drama which will star 2PM's Nichkhun and GOT7's Jinyoung is called "Magic School" which revolves around a group of students who will enroll in a school for magic and discover themselves, their strengths weaknesses and dreams in the process. The show will also star "One Step" actor Yoon Park. The JTBC web series are expected to start airing on July 31, Korea Portal reported.
