Girls Generation’s YoonA Joins Taeyeon, Park Shin Hye As Instagram’s Most Followed South Korean Female Celebrities

YoonA is an actress and a member of the Kpop girl group Girls Generation.

Girls Generation's YoonA recently achieved an impressive milestone on social media. The Kpop idol joined the ranks of fellow girl group member Taeyeon and actress Park Shin Hye as the South Korean female celebrities with the most number of followers on Instagram.

Several Kpop female idols and South Korean actresses boast of having millions of social media followers on platforms such as Twitter and Instagram. Recently, Girls Generation's YoonA nabbed the third spot on the list of most followed Instagram accounts among female celebrities. The Kpop idol reached 6 million followers, according to All Kpop.

Girls Generation's YoonA's entry into the said list marked the second time that a member of the same Kpop band ranked on the list. The songstress turned actress' fellow girl group member Taeyeon landed at first place with more than 9 million Instagram followers.

Apart from the two Kpop idols, Park Shin Hye also made it to the same list at number two. Similar to Girls Generation's YoonA's follower count, the "Doctors" actress has 6.4 million followers on the said social media platform.

In other news, Girls Generation's YoonA will soon make her small screen comeback with the historical drama "The King Loves." Showrunners of the upcoming MBC drama have taken the lead that several small screen productions recently took where all the episodes were pre-filmed ahead of the series' premiere, Soompi reported.

Set during the Joseon dynasty, Girls Generation's YoonA will portray Eun San in the upcoming "The King Loves." Described as a beautiful yet headstrong young woman, Eun San is the daughter of a rich nobleman who becomes entangled in a love triangle between the crown prince and his bodyguard.

Other stars who joined Girls Generation's YoonA in the said MBC production includes Kpop idol Im Siwan and "Scarlet Heart: Ryeo" actor Hong Jung Hyun. Im Siwan will portray the crown prince Wang Won while Hong Jung Hyun will play the prince's childhood friend and protector Wang Rin.

Girls Generation's YoonA's upcoming drama "The King Loves" is currently in production. The MBC drama is expected to premiere sometime this 2017.
