DJI could soon be announcing its new drone. The images of the said device already leaked online and it sparked some interest among drone enthusiasts. According to early reports, the drone will be named Spark and will largely resemble the DJI Mavic Pro. What's better is that the new drone will be way smaller than the already tiny Mavic Pro.

The leaked images of the DJI Spark drone popped up a few days ago on a DJI forum, The Verge reported. Nevertheless, the said thread did not last long and was removed almost immediately. Luckily though, the web instantly caught up with the leak and there are still a number of sources online who was able to snag and post the DJI Spark photos.

Right now, the only things known about the Spark drone come from the leaked images. The drone practically looks like the DJI Mavic Pro with its compact-looking body. It then has a vertical tilting camera. The Spark drone is actually more handheld-type than the Mavic Pro. With that, there are speculations that the DJI Spark will be a mere selfie-drone that is designed for quick selfies and videos. Nevertheless, there are also talks about the possibility that Spark is a racing drone.

Additionally, it is still unknown whether DJI Spark will copy the Mavic Pro's foldable arms, given that the former is already easy to store with its miniature size. Moreover, nothing is known so far about DJI Spark's controller. Considering the drone's size, it is extremely possible that it won't need a controller and just be controllable using a smartphone and an app. There are also no details as to when DJI could possibly unveil the Spark drone. There is only one thing certain at this point though, DJI has already trademarked the drone's name, so it's practically a sure product.
