EXO Surprises Fans With Live Broadcast To Celebrate 5th Anniversary; #5YearsWithEXO Becomes Worldwide Trending Topic

It seems that EXO-Ls were not the only ones who had big things planned to celebrate EXO's fifth debut anniversary. Fans were treated to the surprise of their life when the K-pop idol group went live from their hotel in Macao to welcome their fifth anniversary with their supporters.

The boys went live via Naver broadcast just before midnight of April 8  to send their special heartfelt messages to their EXO-L fandom. At first, it was only Chanyeol who started the broadcast leading fans to think that he was the only one who was airing his greeting. Sehun joined some minutes later but EXO-Ls were shocked to find out later that all six members of EXO were in the room and were part of the surprise.

The entire live feed seemed like a hanging out session where EXO members shared what was keeping them occupied. Sehun said that he was currently obsessed with an old-school video game, Baekhyun shared some details of his SM Station solo release, Chanyeol talked about his bowling, but mostly, they talked about how they were preparing for their comeback.

According to a report by Soompi, they also thanked their fans for their loyal support for the past five years and said that they hope that EXO-Ls will continue to journey with them in the next to three decades. To show their support, fans brought 10 of EXO's songs to the top of the charts on their anniversary and trended the hashtag #5YearsWithEXO worldwide.

EXO-Ls also lit up Times Square with giant billboards to celebrate EXO's fifth anniversary. This was by far one of the most expensive gifts that a fandom has ever given their idols and a testament to the amount of love that EXO-Ls worldwide have for the LOTTO hitmakers.
